Development of reclaimed land within brighton marina. The building envelope had to take into account the harsh marine environment.

Facilities: David Lloyd, bowlplex, Virgin cinema, Macdonalds

The development was undertaken when brighton marina had gone into receivership + was being administrated by 8 banking groups.

Brighton Council were desperate for the site to be developed out, the leisure developer GLN took full advantage of this. In addition, the whole marina was sold to another developer who sought to maximise their profit by downgrading the scheme still further.
